ATTENDANTS
Straight out of Brookfield, WI Cav is known to shoot straight and tell it how it is. He is the fierce iron who has sharpened my life, more than any other man. He's been by my side since back in college, encouraging me, and challenging me. He now works as an Energy Modeler and Field Rater in Eagan, MN. You can find Cav and I singing country songs at the top of our lungs and cracking theology jokes.
From the banks of Stillwater, MN "Robert of Stillwater" is famous for his robust laugh, smooth voice and his impeccable ability to support a beard. He is known to tell an incredible story (or twelve) about the Byzantine Empire and is currently pursuing a PhD in St. Louis. I met Bobby back in college, he has been closer than a brother.
Born and raised on the plains of Grand Forks, ND. Jeremy is known to turn any pile of junk into a superior crafted piece of furniture. An expert craftsman, Jeremy and I were roommates in South Carolina. Were it not for him I would have never asked Brooke out. Currently he can be found dwelling in Portland, OR hunting down a Masters of Divinity Degree at Western Seminary.
Nick is known to perform a flawless Forest Gump impression, but he is better known for his compassion and care for people. I randomly met Nick around 2 am on a bench back in our college days. We've been drinking coffee, talking about God's glory and hanging out ever since. He lives in St. Cloud, MN and is married to the incredible Mindee Frost.
Sam hails from the great plains of Pierre, SD. (#605Territory) He has the most killer blue eyes you'll ever see both sides of the Mississippi. He is well distinguished for speeding and having excellent cleaning skills. I met Sam around Hope last fall. He is easily one of my favorite people.
There is a high probability that Davis will have best socks out of anyone in a crowd. I met Davis randomly around Hope, we grabbed lunch and it easily turned into a 3 hour conversation about everything. He challenges me to think hard and deep about all things. He works as a Consultant in Minneapolis.
I first met Jake in preschool. One of the most compassionate people you will meet, he currently works as a Paramedic and lives in Elk River. Our senior year of highschool Jake introduced me to the greatest, highest and deepest joy I’ve ever known- the joy of knowing and treasuring Jesus Christ.
David Joshua Ruess is one of the most legit dudes I know. He can be found Interning around Hope and embarking on creative endeavors, all while keeping me out of trouble. David and his cat currently live in St. Louis Park.
"Patch" comes from the land of Marion, Iowa. A fellow intern with me at Hope, he and his wife Shelby currently live in North Minneapolis. An all-around-extrovert you will usually find him talking to somebody and caring about people.
Jimmy is.... well, a Krzesowiak, so like his older brother he is naturally goofy. He does all things sports and hunting. He is 8th grade and likes to play Football and Baseball.
Britt is my sweet, compassionate, one and only sister! With this lovely lady, we grew up on the back of our ponies, spending countless hours in the barn, on trail rides, and on the rodeo road. She’s been such a great supporter, encourager & role model for me throughout life & especially
nursing school. The Decker sisters enjoy shopping, grabbing coffee, sippin’ on wine, watching movies and doing all things sisters do. Britt is truly the best sister ever and I wouldn’t have anyone else stand by my side as my Matron of Honor! Britt is an amazing nurse at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and is married to the love of her life and my wonderful brother-in-law Mr. Patrick Cowan!
15 days apart from birth, the adventures of Morgie Sue & Brookie Sue have never been dull…even ask our mothers!! With this girl, we have experienced & celebrated so much life together, now adding Minneapolis adventures to the list! We enjoy traveling, especially to warm tropical places, snuggling with her puppy Harley, getting lost on the ski slopes, making our lips taste like sangria, and off-roadin’ it in the beautiful Black Hills! Morgan also had the honor and privilege of meeting Mike before any of my family! So glad she is living in the cities to help me navigate and make our South
Dakota home not feel so far away.
Kelsey is my spunky, adventurous cousin who has fulfilled every cousin duty out there. She’s
one of the main reasons I look forward to every major holiday & family gathering. We enjoy sippin’ on wine & apple cider beer, playing Mexican Train dominos, shopping, and hanging out with our family. Kelsey will start the great adventures of nursing school in January at the University of Sioux Falls.
Coffee, donuts, and Jesus pretty much sums up my relationship with Katie (Manson) Nielson.
We’ve been friends since our freshman year when we lived three doors down from each other on 2nd Mickelson. Some of our greatest & most memorable adventures include traveling to North Myrtle Beach, SC for 10 weeks, working at Dunkin Donuts, co-leading a freshman Bible study, having many sunrise coffee dates to Caribou and experiencing the wonderful culture of college together. Katie is in her first year of grad school at the University of Missouri working on her Master’s of Speech-Language
Pathology and is doing amazing! She is married to the awesome Mr. Stephen Nielson and they are both living it up in grad school in Colombia, MO.
Bethany is my sweet friend hailing from Oregon. The story of Bethany and Brooke started
my freshman year at USD when Bethany was my Community Advisor on 2nd Mickelson. We also lived together in our cute, comfy little home we liked to call the “B&B” during my first year of nursing school & her senior year of college! Some of my favorite memories living with Bethany include making frequent 7 mile trips to Caribou coffee, ordering Chae’s, & having many roomie movie and wine date nights. Bethany was one of the key people in my life who highly encouraged me to date Mike, even if life would be a crazy with nursing school and a long distance relationship. I’m sure glad she did! Bethany is loving life in Sioux Falls and is engaged to Mr. Nathan Fields.
My dear friend Kristen has been through the crazy adventures of nursing school with me
from day 1! Our story starts our sophomore year with having mutual Cru friends and road trippin’ it to South Carolina for 10 weeks of the best summer ever!! After returning to USD, our road trips didn’t stop there. We’ve been to Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, and various locations in South Dakota to visit Mike, project friends, and just have coffee dates. She challenges me to view life from such a beautiful
perspective and to love Jesus more each day! Kristen is living out her dream in Rapid City, SD as an awesome Registered Nurse!
Emmy Lou Lawson is my long lost twin from Wisconsin! I met Emma on my first trip to NMB in 2013 and had the honor and privilege of being her roommate for 10 weeks! Not only did she put up with me, all of my stuff, and addiction to coffee & Dunkin for 10 weeks in our tiny little beach bungalow, but she has encouraged me, loved me, and challenged me to grow in my walk with Jesus throughout the past 2 ½ years of our friendship. Because of Emma, I have one more excuse to visit Wisconsin, one more reason to love decorating with sticks, and one more sister to experience life with. Emma married the love of her life, Jory on April 18, 2015. They reside in Fon Du Lac, WI and are
both interns with Cru.
My lovely friend Cat and I have been friends since our freshman year of college. Living in the
same hall, being in the same freshman Bible study, and going to North Myrtle Beach, SC in 2013 has grew our friendship into something pretty special. Not only do we share the same major of Nursing, but I had the great honor of living with Cat during my senior year of college. Many late nights of studying and many late nights of not studying, rather watching old-time movies, painting nails, making many random food recipes & having people over were spent at the Nursing Nook. Cat is finishing up her Senior Year of Nursing School at USD and am so excited for her to be a part of my life and special day.
This girl will never leave you not smiling! Kayla and I have been friends since kindergarten at James Valley. We’ve spent countless hours on the phone, sneaking over to each other’s houses, chillin’ at the lake, eating our mother’s famous foods and having many weekly family game nights! Kayla will graduate from SDSU in May with a Speech Communication major, and a minor in Broadcast Journalism.
